Good evening all.
I’m thinking about buying a 12v tyre inflator. Does anyone have any recommendations? Needs to inflate up to 79 p.s,I / 5.5 Bar.

RAC Ring 900 is the usual recommendation, it's on my to buy list

I bought the T max heavy duty small one for around £70 and it is good, for home use I used an old golf trolley .

Von Haus,

VonHaus 12v Digital Cordless Car Tyre Inflator/Air Compressor, LCD Display,Torch

£38.00 Ebay. It also has a flashing red light if you need it in a breakdown. Holds it's charge well. Battery plus 12v lead.
Been pleased with mine.

I know it’s too late, but for anyone else looking, the Von Haus cordless inflator is just a wonderful piece of kit. Inflates to 125psi and no wires to get in the way. Also has an adapter which allows it to run off an outlet if needs be, but we’ve never had to use that.

Highly recommended and a fraction of the price.

I bought one of these. Crocodile clips onto the battery terminals - rated at 25A.

I hope I never have to use the gunk.

Having looked at the Von Haus I bought a competing cordless inflator, the Worx WX 092. A key reason being that it shares the same Powershare 20v battery as my Worx Hydrashot cordless power wash gadget. Compared with the faff of assembling the Ring RAC900 (that I also have) and putting it away afterwards, this Worx inflator makes it quick and easy to check the van's tyre pressures and add a bit where necessary. Four and a half Stars from me. Edit - the digital pressure readout on this Worx is also accurate to within half a PSI, a bonus.

Half a star knocked off only because it needs to cool down after 2 1/2 minutes continuous running otherwise the compressor overheats. I think all small compressors require similar precautions against overheating that should not be ignored. Including the Ring RAC900.

My Von Haus is into its second year of faultless service. There, that’s jinxed it! But it copes with 80psi rear tyres with ease. Very light and compact.
So another vote for Von Haus. 👍
