Hi, can anyone recommend at a good electric tyre inflator for motorhome tyres, one that will operate up to 80 psi. And with one of this capability is it best to clip it direct to the battery or use the cigarette lighter socket

Fiat inflator draws 16A, 12V socket fused with 15A - nice one Fiat - same thing happened to me!

Back to the drawing board.

Took delivery of my Ring 900 this morning. It’s now back in its box being returned to Amazon. Connected to vehicle battery, 10 seconds, fuse blew. Put in another fuse, 10 seconds the fuse blew again.

Not that impressed........unless you can’t connect it to a Fiat Ducato battery?

Change fuse to 20amp, blew my fuse then read instructions telling me to to do what I found out the hard way. At least you know where the fuses are if anything else should blow.
Saves you hunting for the vehicle instruction manual at the side of the road. Always carry spare fuses, saves you waiting for the breakdown services.

Seems like a faulty unit, my Ring 900 works fine using alligator clips direct to the battery.

Instead of running my compressor of the cigar socket in the van when at home I run it from a spare battery using a lead I made up with an old cigar socket with 25amp fuses in both lines.

It didn’t blow anything on the van, it blew the inline fuse to the compressor. You can’t plug it into the 12v socket, it connects to your battery. (y)

T Max straight off the battery and engine running! Brilliant piece of kit.

Looking at the 2663 I think it is.

Off for a few days now, so I’ll sort it next week. (y)

If you have the Fiat one with the gunk, if you run the engine then turn it on you are less likely to blow the fuse. As the voltage drops the amps go up.

We have one of these and it’s utterly brilliant.

Second that. And with an adapter to turn it to clip on rather than screw on it is so easy to use.

Just came across this:
Amazon product ASIN B085M2C6CP
As I have other Makita kit & batteries, it seems like it would be a useful addition. The reviews are glowing but i don’t know if it’s going to work very well on Motorhome tyre pressures.

Thanks for that info
I second the T-MAX - brilliant bit of kit and well worth the cost.
