As previously posted we recently bought our first motorhome a 2010 Elddis Autoquest/Sunstyle 180. ::bigsmile:

Our first long haul to Cornwall appears to have resulted in a slow puncture in the rear offside tyre. No sweat but on checking tyre sizes the following conundrum materialised.

Tyre on motorhome: CONTINENTAL VANCO CAMPER 215/75 R16 116R C
Tyre size in supplied motorhome handbook: 215/70 R15C 109 S
Tyre size supplied by Elddis Technical Services: 225/75 R15C 112S

Which is right and do we have the wrong tyre fitted to the motorhome?

Incidentally Elddis say the supplied handbook is the wrong one, it being for a 2011 motorhome! :ROFLMAO:

Any advice please?

Mike. :thumb:

The "R16" part is the important difference here. That indicates a 16 inch wheel diameter. You cannot fit any of the R15 options onto a 16" wheel.

The 215 and 225 are width (in mm), it is possible to fit a slightly wider tyre but on a motorhome I see no point.

Just make sure the sizes match what you've already got, in this case you are looking for a replacement to be of size 215/75 R16

The first one (R16) indicates you have 16" rims on your motorhome so the other two being 15" would not fit anyway.

Therefore you probably have the correct size tyres fitted but if in any doubt check with a local tyre fitter.

The tyres and wheels you have fitted are superior to the handbook and the Elddis supplied ones, which, as others point out, wouldn't fit anyway. The only slight difference is the speed rating (106mph instead of 112mph).

Replace like for like. Whereabouts in Conrwall are you as I might be able to point you to some good suppliers.
