I'm a newbie
Hi,
I currently have an autotrail cheyanne with uk gas bottles.
I want to switch to french bottles as we live over here now. To do this I have bought a French regulator which looks like it is just a case of jubilee clipping it on to the exisiting connection. I would also like to have the capacity to run a Spanish bottle.
Can anyone advise me on this. Is it just a case of finding an adaptor that will connect to my French regulator?
Is Repsol the best bottle to go for?
I would appreciate any help as we plan on heading to Spain this winter.
To confuse matters further... what is the situation in Portugal regarding gas ?
Cheers

you can use repsol or cepsa . if going to portugal as well sometimes you can exchange repsol there . sometimes not . buy there are gas places that fill almost anytype of bottle .
you will require a 35mm clip on for the spanish bottle .
but have you got a bulkhead mounted reg in your van or bottle top regulator . you may need pigtails and adaptors for french and spanish . but its all obtainable easily . if you leave france with a full bottle only use it as emergency gas and get a spanish bottle you should be able to cope . it takes a bit of juggling but it can be done .

yes just get correct reg for what ever bootle you use.
i like them much easier and more reliable than a fixed reg .

Why not have a refillable gasit bottle, fill it anywhere then for half price, used ours in France for near on five weeks, used 14 euros worth of gas

it was might still be cheaper to exchange bottles in spain than fill at the pumps .
why spend good money on bottles .

There are a few reasons
1. You dont have to wait till yout out or nealry out of gas to fill up. Just fill up whenever you see gas for sale and you know you will take 1/2 bottle or more. So its more conveinient

2. Its Cheaper and pays for itself

3. You can take them with you if you sell the van

4. You are not limited to getting certain bottles in certain countries once you have the adaptors

Just my thoughts but excahnge bottles may be ok for some

you can fill other bottles without being empty.
its not always cheaper.
you can take any bottle with you if you sell the van .
you wont fill them in lots of countries . many dont have autogas.
