Hello All,

I'm a relative neophyte to all this stuff. We took our oldish van round Spain and then back up through Eastern europe a few months ago, so the practcalities are not beyond us.

However, we would like to head down again to Spain, perhaps Benidorm, until early December, when we have to be back here. (I'm writing from UK, for avoidance of doubt)

Any ideas, hints and/or tips would be welcome.

Thanks,

Paul

Apart from not being to spell practicalties...

Got them. (main one and another on standby "just in case") I was more wondering if anybody has any recommendations vis a vis Benidorm?

The other question, which I forgot entirely first time, is about the Lincoln Show. If I'm parked in "general camping" is it okay to come into your bit and say hello? Don't want to tread on anybody's toes.

Benidorm is OK in the winter, plenty going on and relatively low costs, weather reasonable.

Dont go at the same time as us. We were here at Easter, torrential rain and flooding. We are near Alicante now torrential rain and flooding. Singing ' The rain in Spain ......'

I see the spelling police are active on this thread. Nothing better to do guys?

We were there last two years for christmas/new year and had lovely weather. Cheap living, Benidorm not our cup of tea, Castillion de Plana somewhat calmer and more in line with our personal needs.

We are off to Beni in late October for 6 weeks. It will be our 5th visit , we didn’t really think it would be our cup of tea as we live in Sherborne and shop in Waitrose! We arrived in the middle of the fiesta and were initially horrified, fulfilled all my preconceptions.
We then met Sheddy and Shirley, Pam & Brian, Knuckle dragger , that first year on Villasol . 6 weeks later we didn’t want to go home.
We’ve made so many more friends since. Yes there’s a tiny bit that’s not my cup of tea but cheap public transport to lots of pretty villages, a cheap train to larger towns and cities. Easy cycling , warm sunshine. Good food and I’m not talking English brekkies. Of course there’s cheap beer which is great but I don’t drink at all but still have a wonderful time.

It’s like marmite, which I love. We go for the company. We tour a bit en route as well. Daughter is a fluent Spanish speaker and even she loves her Beni fix!
