two awning gutter strips

hi just bought a fiat ducato sundance and its got what look like two awning gutter strips running paralel down the side of it. are they for a wind out awning or something else please

The smaller lower one is probably for a porch awning and the larger one for a much larger one. Whilst the porch awning can be a caravan or MH one the larger is no good for a traditional caravan awning as they need vertical channelling to so would need to be one without that.
