Had the Smartie for two years near as dammit
It has a rather snazy Pioneer satnav built in to it.
Apart from the every occasional time I ( we ) have never been able to set a new destination by searching the address. The option to do so has always been 'greyed' out.
I have read the books, searched on line, looked at forums.. It is never mentioned.
The only option is to go to a previous destination or home.
Woman and I have spent literally HOURS messing around trying all sorts

In desperation today I called up the Pioneer help desk..
Described the issue and with out a moments hesitation the chap said it was almost certainly something to do with the way it was wired in, as it need an earth signal from the handbrake before it allows you to 'play' with it ( thereby stopping people from messing around while driving )

I thanked the guy and said I would look in to it.
I put the fone down, walked to the door, and repeatedly banged my head on it !!!!!!!!!!!!

For others with a Smart car you will know that really, unless doing a hill start or sitting in traffic the handbrake is not actually needed
Put the car in reverse, turn the ignition off and it completely locks the back wheels..
Yup, you guessed it.. Because I rarely use the handbrake I could not set the bloody satnav !!!!
Walked out to the car, put the brake on, instant success !!

As this is not mentioned anywhere else that I can find, I am gonna tag the model number so that a google search might bring it up and folk can read what the problem is :)

I loved the epithet, Sat-NAG, but I love Twat-Nav even MORE!
I can see it entering the MHF dictionary when we describe such gizmos in the future. :D

Another is Nagnav....I got one of them!!

Our sat-nav is almost the same. If it detects you are moving it won't allow anything to be altered.

Sorry John just gatecrashed to let you know I got the dash cam

Many thanks

Great bit of kit

What a knob, pmsl. Well done John, you sorted it out before the maps became totally out dated lol.
