I am thinking of getting a Maxview roam or a motorhome WiFi aerial,
that is supposed to boost phone signals e.t.c. Has anyone got one and do they do what they say they will.

It might be worth looking into the Motorhome Fun magazine back issues. I'm sure there was an article but can't remember the issue. Was it 1?

We use a 3payg sim in a mifi so rarely use it for TV. Just a thought do you stream TV now and do you have a problem? I think it's really easy to buy lots of stuff you don't need.

the Motorhome Wifi is a useful bit of kit for various reasons, however you need to address how you will access data. it only provides the ability to connect to an internet 'signal' it doesnt give you the ability to connect to the service !
if youre going somewhere with free wifi and you can access the signal, then they come into their own. if you go somewhere that you have to pay to access wifi and you can get a signal, then you can usually share that signal across other devices without paying extra, which we find extremely useful !!!

we recently got a netgear M2 nighthawk modem, which to be honest has met all our needs on this trip to France, have been able to stream football perfectly, but as it needs a sim card, you need to have adequate amount of data (we have unlimited in the UK, so its great for UK travelling)

we also have an 85cm sat dish, so we watch FTA channel via that and any 'extras' via the M2 (the boss watched 90 day fiance via kodi last night for instance, used about 1gb of data) , but where there is free wifi, we use the Motorhome Wifi and watch whatever we want.

we also quite often, also just sit and read or chat or play games but its great to have the option to watch whatever we want, virtually wherever we are.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve as you mention a phone signal.

You cannot physically connect the Maxview Roam 'antenna' to a phone so you have to use the router (which I assume is always supplied with it), then you'd connect your phone via wifi. It is only 3g & 4g, not 5g. You'd still need to buy a sim for the data itself. Whether it will help with the signal for calls etc I don't know.

This is the blurb on it:
Introducing Maxview Roam, a powerful mobile Wi-Fi solution designed to provide uncompromised internet connectivity, even in remote and rural locations. Our powerful roof mount antenna has been designed to maximise 3G/4G signal.

Coupled with the router, this creates a reliable and secure Wi-Fi hotspot for your vehicle. Unlike other products, the Roam can also receive Wi-Fi sources, so you are only using data when necessary.

The router is designed to work with any data service provider, alongside your choice of Pay As You Go or monthly contract. So you can use whatever network works best for you.

We offer a 12GB or 24GB Three Network SIM card. (Sold separately).

It seems very expensive for what it is and you can probably buy an antenna and router separately much more cheaply.

I was thinking that it got a stronger phone signal so streaming would be better

Those are fine if you are plugging them into a USB connection.
