Hi all,
I have 12/240 avtex tv in a 09 swift mondial rl and through a process of illumination discovered that when the fridge unit runs up it pixelates the tv and sometimes blacks out the signal, all together. I have a ferrite core on the power cable. Have tried on both 12 and 240 supplies and no difference.

Help, it’s starting to do head in now.

Thanks in advance of receiving knowledge and wisdom and no doubt the odd witty comment.

Renew or remake your aerial fly leaf, it may help.

From the wall to your telly.
Are you picking up power very near to the fridge? If so a completely separate feed might help.

So that cable is a fly leaf, brilliant, you learn something new every day.

Thing have moved on however, it would now appear anything 12v being turned on apart from one spot light and one roof light screws it up. Have tried the tv on separate 240 supply and all 12v supply’s with same results. Looking at wiring diagram they are separate feeds.

So I’m now thinking airel booster/junction box is the problem area and it is this that is being interrupted.

The plot thickens

most people call it a fly LEAD.

i think the lead in question is the tv COAX between the signal booster/amplifier and tv (or wall outlet plate, or both), not the power lead.
a poor joint here can allow RF signals to enter the coax causing interference.

Have you fitted the Ferrite core close to the plug for the supply that is affecting the reception?
Also check if any power supplies you are using (If any) are “switch mode” they can cause havoc with TV reception.
Finally and it is long shot but you could investigate TV Low Pass filters online. They allow the TV signal through but block offending frequencies from other sources that are interfering with your TV signal.

Sorry, just saw your post re’ the booster amp. The power supply for that ironically could be your problem!

New
TV boosters can, and do, boost interference. Bypass it and unplug the power supply.

Hi all sorry for the late reply. Been laid up.
Have spoken to manufacturer who says that it must be ef interference.
All seems very strange to me as no one would have taken the van from new with this. Next time we get away I am going to tryaseperate arial and see what happens.
Thanks for all you help.

Didn't mean to start ww3.
I won't post again.
I paid for a years membership this morning. Can I have it back please? I don't think I want to be part of this.

Not when I now have to watch every word I type, I'm 72, not twelve!

I'd like a refund please, I'm not sticking around after that.
