I have a Maxview satellite dish 2010 and a TV ariel on the roof (make unknown ) with a booster,i can usually get a week signal off one or the other but neither are very strong signals,can i improve what i have or do i need to buy something if so what would you suggest '

Poor sat reception is usually one of three things....
1....Not properly aimed at the satellite, just enough to get a signal but not fine tuned. A fraction left or right, up or down will improve it
2...Sat receiver is cheap, poor quality tat and not selective enough.
3....poor installation of system/cabling etc...badly fitted plugs etc.

Regular tv aerial needs to point EXACTLY at the local mast...a little off will give a poor or no signal.
It also needs the correct polorisation...horizontal or vertical depending on the transmitter mast.
