Help please. In a layby on way to Nottingham and brought my small Avtex tv with me. Had it years but never needed to use it.

Tonight want to watch the next episode of Missing. On 12v (not invertor) will I be asking for trouble using it for an hour?

..and what about if I then turn over to 4+1 to watch HIM .. is that REALLY pushing it, two hours?

And dont forget it will need to be re-tuned.. so allow a few mins to get that done...

If you look on the back of the TV it will state how many watts it will use in an hour..
Modern LCD / LED tv's are nowhere as bad as the old one's for current drain..

Agree with the above post, should be alright, if still worried turn off any lights you don't need whilst watching.

Thanks @tonka .. reminds me of when I first bought it. The man in the shop set it up for me.

When I got back to site it said No Signal. I took it back to the shop and said it was broken. He switched on and it worked. This happened THREE gimes and both of us were bewildered .. then a young man in the shop explained. Doh. :)

Joy you are one gutsy woman parking up in a lay by. Do you have any HGVs beside you. I could never park up in one alone and I've got Blue. Mind you he's getting deaf now. Stay safe x

@movan our 19" cello tv uses around 3 amps when using 12v.
Very easy on the batteries . and I'm sure the avtex is the same. so worry not..
I'm currently browsing the forums while w8ing on the missing coming on. great show :)

Joy, if you get spooked there is a lay-by just outside the site that Veronica and me are on so you could always come here and spend the night. If the van doesn't start in the morning you will have to ring me and I'll come and find you - you won't miss the funeral!!

It depends on your battery set up but I would expect a small colour TV to take a maximum of 4 Ah from your batteries each hour.If your batteries are fully charged and in good order you should be ok for a lot more than 2 hours!
