Hi,
The tv has been working fine until tonight. Went to turn it on and noticed the 12v supply had come out of the back of the tv, I initially thought it was the aerial lead went to put it into an outlet (without my specs on) realised that was the sat in hole and it sparked a little. I obviously then put it in correct socket but TV won't work now. I have checked the 12v socket is still working by plugging a phone charger into it and it is. I have wiggled the 12v tv connector about to check its not being temperamental and still no joy. Have I shorted it? Any ideas please.

Inspect the TV power cable plug (the end that sparked) for soot / damage caused by the spark. With the cable disconnected from the supply try gently cleaning the plug contacts. See if that works. Alternatively If you have a spare or suitable lead, try substituting.

My first guess would be that the 12V power supply connection has failed somehow. Is this wire a direct wire from the 12V socket to the TV socket, or does it have some kind of power brick wired into it? Is it a cigarette-lighter type socket or the smaller DIN type socket? If it's a cigarette-lighter type, there will be a fuse in the plug. Be careful unscrewing it, there are usually small bits and springs that fly off all over the placeo_O

Thanks for suggestions, back on the road now but will inspect thoroughly and check out when I get chance. I will try both and keep fingers crossed otherwise we will be home in a couple of days so will get a new lead and see if that sorts it, otherwise a trip to garage.
