Yes, the French vets seem to insist on filling in the "Fitness to Travel" page, which doesn't have anywhere near the same number of spaces as the treatment pages, even using the "overflow" bit. As a result our Pet Passport was filled long before it was necessary and we had to get a new one - at a cost of course!

The 'fitness for travel' is NOT required but the French vets like to do it, if they fill the allotted pages they just use the non-utilised pages instead so not an issue.

We NEVER EVER drive away from where the vet is until we've checked the passports are completed correctly, that way if there's a problem we can go straight back in and get it corrected, so far we've never had an issue doing that.

We did, however, have a 'caution' last time when coming back with Romy as we had just taken her new passport not her old one which we apparently should have had with us too as it shows the continuity from her original rabies treatment, so make sure you take ALL passports for your dog, old and new.

Always had great service at pet control at the tunnel. As above we NOW, always check the passport before leaving the vet. We had an experience where vet had put wrong date (had just copied above entry) so was refused travel, but they at tunnel tried to help as much as poss by ringing vet, who was now closed, and said if we had receipt they would except that as proof of correct date. We now always get receipt, and double check passport. They did still allow us to travel the same day. ??????
