We had no holdups or difficulties exiting the country on the outward bound portion of our booking. Used the self checkin machine after pet control.
On return yesterday, checked in first at Pet Control. No problem there, all on computer ok.
Drove to vehicle check in. Hello Mrs xxxx, welcome. Had van registration ok. Had to type in booking number, did that, had to enter credit card that I had paid with, did that, next screen asked for booking number again, next screen enter the cars, next screen enter booking number…..and so on. Had to call for help. The young lady who came couldn’t do it either and had to speak on her radio with control room to get barrier opened.
While all this going on the 2 customs people decided to wait in front of us after just a cursory glance the the MH in front as it went by. Much more interesting, I would have thought as a hire MH.
So we were directed to the 3 D Xray machine. Rosie already a bit stressed, and me too as chief operator of all things that require pressing buttons and knowing booking numbers and having the passports. Also our first time through pet control with associated paperwork.
Although we got out of van and walked alongside it was very noisy and clangy and a continuous warning beep which unsettled Rosie even more.
Having examined our dirty underwear and the rest of the deitrus of over 2 weeks in the van, without getting their hands dirty, they declared us free to go.
First time pulled over for a check for us. No one doing the usual steering wheel swipe for drugs, which they used to do on every vehicle.
