Two weeks today we'll be on our way south ::bigsmile:

It will be our first European trip in the MH :Eeek: We will head for Zahora and hopefully be there in time for Marie &g Old Mo's birthday bash. :party2:

We haven't been to Spain or Portugal so are looking forward to exploring. Any suggestions of must-see places or, indeed, any to avoid(!) would be welcome.

We should be able to spend time at JJ's meet in Portugal and then head back home by end of February.

Btw do we need to book ahead for the campsite at Zahora?

We did a rekkie by car to the Algarve last year and found some truly spectacular places to overnight in a MH. Don't know if you are travelling that far south, but if you are, Carrapateira and Cape St Vincent were two beautiful places where MHs were parked up. In a beachside park in Carrapateira and right on the cliff edge at Cape St Vincent

Hope you have a fabulous time and there is quite a few Funsters down there at the moment I believe.
I would add one point that is not aimed at putting a damper on your plans but is intended to provide you with some information that you may or may not be aware off and that is about the weather in southern Spain.

It was only after doing a little research that I discovered that the bottom of Spain is affected by the Atlantic weather systems which can bring in a fair bit of rain during the winter and as for temperature it does not get much hotter than the Murcia region which is also the driest region of Spain in the winter and protected by a ridge of mountains which blocks the Atlantic weather. So, in essence if your looking for a part of Spain that's dry and warm in winter you need head no further south than here. Saying that they do get their odd bad days but less than others.

Anyway, enjoy your trip.
I've attached a link which may assists you in your journey down to Spain and is quite popular with other Funsters.
