Going to stay overnight at Cite Europe get a early start 27th and follow PhilandMena Western route hoping weather is kind to us on the way down, don't want to hang about hoping to do it in 3 days. It will be our first time wintering in Spain, we are really looking forward to it. Got Playa Tropicana booked first 2 weeks then booked a month at Los Gallardos and will suck it and see from there.

Have a great Trip. You have chosen a good route. Fuel in France is a lot more than Spain so try and arrive at the Spanish boarder as near empty as possible. Then go here a few K's over the boarder for discounted fuel.

what do you actually pay tolls with? does it have to be cash or can you "beep" your contactless card or phone and go?
(I know there is also the windscreen thingies you pre-purchase)

We always use cash the very few times we pass through Toll Booths in France. Fairly certain you can use a debit card too.

I think it’s easier to use a card than cash, ticket in, card in, card out and away you go, no PIN number to put in.
Only downside is reaching the machine but my wife usually opens the door to make it easier.

ATMB is good if you want one of the things to attach to windscreen. Lovely not having to open window in freezing wind and rain. Cheaper than Sanef.

We always use a credit card, a specific one for the tolls.(I try to avoid them but swmbo loves them). There are high level slots which swmbo can reach through her window even though she is short.
We also have a specific credit card for fuel, and another for groceries, all set to pay off on direct debit each month. This makes it dead simple to see what we've spent on what.

We use cash! We love to hear the cheerfulness of the French stuck behind us shouting out words of friendship?
