Hi all,

If you have problems with the frequencies on an Oyster system then the best thing to do is to give us a call when you are with the system and we will happily talk you through updating them for Astra 2 and for Hispasat.
Following the instructions posted by Jacksons is not recommended and they have been asked to withdraw them as they give the user access to a hidden menu that contains a lot of sensitive Satellite settings.
The menu is hidden to stop any accidental changes being made which could prove detrimental to the operation of the system. Where as Jacksons instructions do clearly explain what to change and what not to change they do not in any way explain what to do if you accidentally do change something.
For the sake of a ten minute phone call is it worth the risk?

Good morning all,

Just a quick note to anyone that's manually updating frequencies for Hispasat.
Two of the frequencies listed above are now transmitted using DVB-S2 so will not work on an Oyster Vision II system due to that unit only having a DVB-S tuner.
If using Vision III then the frequencies listed above are fine but for Vision II please use the following:

Transponder 0 - Frequency 10890, Polarisation Vertical, Symbol Rate 27500, FEC 3 IQ 1
Transponder 1 - Frequency 12322, Polarisation Horizontal, Symbol Rate 27500, FEC 3 IQ 1
Transponder 2 - Frequency 12092, Polarisation Vertical, Symbol Rate 27500, FEC 3 IQ 1
Transponder 3 - Frequency 11891, Polarisation Vertical, Symbol Rate 30000, FEC 3 IQ 1

Please note that the hidden menu you need to access in order to make alterations to the frequencies is hidden due to it housing base operation options that should not be altered as it could harm your system.
We do not give out instructions on how to access this menu and do not condone our dealers doing so.
If you have access to this menu and alter these frequencies you do so at your own risk however if you call us on 01858575928 then we will be more than happy to talk you through the process and that way are on hand if anything doesn't quite go to plan.

Thank you for the information. I've updated my list now.
That now means there are no Horizontal DVB-S transmissions on Hispasat then. Interesting!
Also, after checking the remaining frequencies on Hispasat that transmit using DVB-S there are no other frequencies suitable for a Vision II to use so the other three in the list I have posted are the only options.
