Hi.
I will soon be travelling to Spain and want to receive UK television programmes.

Has anyone got an easy/best way to tune my satellite system to receive Intelsat 907.

I have an Oyster vision 2 system and an Icecrypt 1600chd receiver.
I know I will have to turn the LNB and I have read about Biss codes !!! (I don't understand that bit)
A step by step guide would help me. I have tried to tune in at home with no luck.

Thanks in Anticipation
Frank

Hi @franknjan

I’ve just done exactly this last month but it wasn’t an easy job :(. I had a nightmare of a job to update the icecrypt box to accept the BISS code. The step by step instructions I found online just wouldn’t work at all. Luckily I found online someone’s backup of their icecrypt box which included the BISS input menu. Then most of the sites were giving out the wrong BISS code but I managed to find it via a Russian site!

Tuning my Oyster 2 was the easy part, simply turn your LNB counter clockwise (facing the dish) so the coax wire is roughly at 25 past the hour (for Astra 2 they are normally at 25 to the hour). Then search for Hispasat and once locked on manually move the dish 3 clicks to the left and one click up and it should give you perfect signal strength and quality for Intelsat 907. Here are a few pics of the stations I was receiving on Intelsat 907:

Not sure how savvy you are with technical stuff so haven’t gone into too much detail as it’s quite in-depth but it took me approx half a day to sort it but it can be done (y)

Dave

Thanks Dave
I understand what you say about setting the dish. It's the BISS codes that seem to be problem. Do you have the details how to set them.

Have you done anything to your icecrypt box at all? The main steps are:
1. Backup the original firmware
2. Install custom firmware which will then have an additional menu to allow the input of the BISS code.

I’ll go out and take some pics and post them in a minute.

Dave.

So once you have the custom firmware installed press menu on the remote which will give you the following:

Choose Conditional Access which will then give you:

Press Key Edit which will give you:

Then you can input the BISS code into BBC BISS.

Dave.

Look on a web site called sat pimps very interesting
The firmware update they provide would not work, every time I tried to install the custom firmware it gave an error message. There is some detailed instructions on the internet which directs you to satpimps website but I couldn’t get the firmware to work

Have you taken a back up of your firmware and tried to load the firmware from satpimps website?

Dave, I take it you mean me.?
Have you taken a back up of your firmware and tried to load the firmware from satpimps website?

I need to get a couple of USB sticks first.
I'll get my son involved also, he's a bit/lot more up to speed than me with this stuff.
Thanks to everyone for the input. Please keep it coming.

Just had a thought.
Do these alterations affect the receiver, for watching Astra 2 satellite at a later date, or is it just a case of switching satellites in the menu.

Does not affect it at all, the custom firmware just ‘adds’ the ability to add BISS codes, everything else is the same. Let me know if you need anymore information or help (y)

Hi to everyone who contributed to this thread.
Sorry I've been quiet for a bit. We're on the road now. Just outside Lisbon.
I need some more help. I can get a strong signal on 907, but I can't get a picture. Do I need to select a particular setting in TP index? I think I'm on 11132V 14107.
Or, do I now need to insert the Biss code ?
I think I'm very close to success. Just some fine tuning.
Frank

Okay. Just done a bit more fiddling.
Tp index 16)11495 h 44101
Signal strength. Level 90% quality 72%
All BBC channels and more in epg, but they are all scrambled. What do I need to do now.
Thanks in anticipation
