So, are fifth wheelers Tuggers or Chuggers? Or a bit of both!!

Looks like the consensus is that they are hybrid then.👍

A fifth wheeler is just a caravan in a party dress isn't it.
A Fat caravan in a BIG party dress 👍
its appealing to some and appalling to others
I think that is the beauty of our hobby

An aberration!

Worst of all worlds in my opinion.
We had a fiver, and found it a great combination. Oodles of room, in the trailer with slide outs, large capacity fresh and waste tanks, and the convenience of a truck to go 'driveabouts'. It towed like a dream, far better than a car/caravan, and shorter than some car/caravan set ups.

Reversing is much easier than with a car/caravan, and on the go much more stable.

The downside is camp grounds. Some don't know what to make of them, some won't allow them, and aires in Europe don't allow them.

Personally, I would have another in a heartbeat, if places accepted them more.

We have a Fifth wheel love it, it is a small one under 3m high and 7.6m long never been refused on any site and have stayed at a few Aires in France (y)

A huge fiver arrived at C&MC Strathclyde today. Created a bit of mayhem 'cause they were very early so was blocking the entrance!

They have their fans same as detachable's
They meet some peoples needs very well but I would thing they are difficult things to sell on
You would probably need to sell the tow vehicle as a package to get much interest
I could see them being attractive to some full timers
