Hi Folks!

I’m having some trouble with the “front heater” in my 2005 Euramobil 810. This is the heater that’s behind the dash. Essentially when I start it up, I hear a fan go on for a bit, then a few “puffs” which I assume is the heater trying to light the pilot light or something like that and then a click and nothing, which I then get the red light on the control unit.

Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be, what I can start looking at, etc?

This is the control unit for the heater:

The “main heater” in the rear of the vehicle works fine. Never have any problems with it.

Thanks,

Nigel

Have you tried turning the thermostat up to max and both switches to the top,
have the same but never had a problem

Have you tried with the engine running to rule out low battery problems
Thanks for the suggestion! I've tried running it both with the engine running and not but with the same results. It would appear that the battery voltage is not the problem. My leisure battery is LiFePO4 anyway, so generally slightly higher voltage than Lead Acid anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've tried all sorts of ways of starting it now. Following your suggestion, if I start it with the temp turned right up and both switches up, it does seem to start up and run and produce heat. But as soon as it hits temperature and stops heating I then face the same problem when it attempts to start up to heat again whereby it starts to "puff" as I mentioned before, then a click and the red light shows.
Yes we have the dead same Truma E2400 but never a problem touch wood, will be interested to see what you find.
Fingers cross I can get it sorted! :)

Does it demist your front screen as well I find it’s as good with just the fan working
Do you mean if I turn the right hand switch down to the fan position? Is it meant to heat on that setting?

The fan demists the front screen on ours as the normal Fiat heater in the front is not connected to the screen vents? It just blows cold air through the screen vents side screen vents and vents by the drivers and passengers feet

Copied from another forum. Sorry link doesn't work.View attachment 570688View attachment 570689
Thanks for the info! I did wonder whether it was gas supply but figured that seeing as the fridge & main Truma (in the rear of the vehicle) worked fine that gas wasn’t the issue. I have tried turning the main Truma (in the rear of the vehicle) when I turn the front Truma on and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’ll try and figure out how to check the gas supply to the front Truma.

Thanks, that’s handy to know. 🙏🏼

Probably not the problem, but the only time mine didn't work was because I hadn't turned the specific gas valve on for that heater.

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but where is the gas valve for that heater located?
In my gas locker, I have a single regulator that feeds everything in the van and no valves (other than on the top of the cylinders). The only gas valves that I'm aware of in the van are the ones under the kitchen sink.

The valves under the kitchen sink was what I was meaning. There is 1 of them for this heater, but I suspect that you've already confirmed that it is on.
