Truma under the bed (1 Viewer)

After spending the last week in our motorhome, I got to wondering about having a gas fired boiler under the French bed in our Hymer.
I mean you wouldn't dream of fitting a gas boiler under the bed at home would you ?

No problem if vented properly.

If gas goes off with a big bang in Motorhome it's not going to make much odds where it is.
Our gas locker is under the bed.

Hadn't thought about that before but it did make me chuckle Mind you mine isn't

Our gas fired/electric Truma water heater is fitted under the bed by design (Chausson 515).

I wouldn't give it a second thought

Only downside I can see is if like us you set the timer so you have hot water for a shower when you get up, it could make the bed uncomfortable warm in hot climates.

Mine is under the bed and I wake with nice warm feet! Also the dog loves sitting directly above the boiler!!

We had a Truma under our bed in our Bessie
It's ok, but noisy when it fired up

Yes it is noisy, we don't seem to have a timer though, I think ours is a 4E ?

Ours is under Angela's bed, she loves it in winter

Ours starts up with a venting and then WOOF WOOF WHAM as it lights the gas, sounds like a big dog outside barking, I certainly would not want it doing that under my head in bed.

You can retro fit a CP Plus controller which has a timer, I did it on my last van that had a C6.
