Two thirds filled up with water before setting off for weekend - no problem, though did manage to overfill and get wet carpet. (Haven't checked input tank overflow yet.)
Anyway, drove off and realised water being dumped on road. Stopped. Jiggled the yellow lever a bit , repeated this twice and it stopped. Obviously sounds like a duff valve, but I'm just wondering if these things are prone to failing if only by moving the van or if it's anything to do with overfilling. No water around the valve though.

Are you in a hard water area?

Maybe choked with chalk?

We have never had a problem with the manual dump valve on both our motorhomes.

But they were not too old - only around 4 years each.

7 years campers before that
yellow valves are pretty reliable usually its the frost valves that are troublesome and sometimes the red air admitance elbows on the top connection in some vans this is very close or even teed in to the discharge from the yellow pressure relief valve

as above
Our dump valve dumped the water whilst we were away from the van. We had left the pump on and taken something out of the bottom locker.
After a bit of checking we found something had fallen on the valve when we were in the locker. I now have a cover over the valve.

Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, we are in a hard water area and the van is 18 years old, the valve looks old so may be original.
