I am thinking of carrying a spare gas regulator when we go to Greece. The one I have fitted has a crash sensor and I have been told that a standard type would also fit and be cheaper, is this so. Also do I have buy direct from a Truma dealership.

I carry a bottle top regulator and hose that will connect to the system after the regulator as a spare for emergencies.
Not going to carry a £200 Truma as a spare.

I did a straight swap for my Truma with a £27 unit supplied by Autogas 2000 when the Truma turned its toes up, it's been running fine ever since.

Q1 Yes

Q2 No.

If you want one with a crash sensor auto changeover with remote indication you are stuck with coughing up 200 quid for a Truma one.

All this is very good but if you take your beloved motorhome away from build specification you invaidate warranty and insurance (unless you declare it).
Motorhomes after a certain year must conform to a EU spec stating that a crash sensor must be fitted.
I am sure there will be many that will enlighten me but it is your choice.
I bought my Truma spare for £75 off fleabay to prove the original was faulty.
Replaced under warranty hence spare.
Also, make sure that it is mounted above the max gas fluid level of the bottle(s).
Mine wasn't and has now been raised.
