Finally got the chance to escape in the van, even if it is probably the coldest weekend for a while.I have a problem though with the trims heater ie fire. When set to a low setting ie 1,2 or 3,it only stays lit for a very short time before it starts clicking and trying to reignite. On the very highest setting it stays on ok but feel as though we may be stripped to our underwear before long, and nobody wants that!Any quick fix ideas please? It is still under warranty but would like to turn it down before I fall asleep

Could be your regulator starting to play up by not delivering enough gas on the lowest setting ? What happens to the heating if you put all your gas rings on at the same time ?

Sorry went for a long walk No regulator seems fine as nothing else is affected. Left the fire on full while I was out so it's like a sauna now.Have turned it down to 3 and seems ok.Maybe just needed a bit of a burn off,

You most likely need flue extension. I was plagued with this problem for 2 yrs before I learned solution. Less than a tenner.
Why would a flue extender affect the burner on a low setting?

I would suggest two easy checks that have caused me problems in the past
-try a different Regulator and
-check if the gas cylinder is low but not empty.
Can't comment on the possible flue problem
Is the air supply route at the bottom of the unit clear?
Just my thoughts

Thanks for your suggestions.
It is a newish regulator and all other items ie water heater, hob etc are all working fine.
I have an underslung tank, recently filled and gauge shows 90%.
It does appear to be just the fire which is affected.

Interesting.I did lose my flue cover last time out.Maybe that had an extension fitted?I replaced it with just an ordinary one?
