I looked into changing the twin dial set for the CP plus controller on my 2012 Hymer B544.

As I have the older grey combi boiler I checked it out with Truma wanting to know what I would need to swap over. Apparently I need to swap over the PCB panel on the boiler as well as the control panel.

They gave me two parts that I need, so checked out prices:

36021-54-CP+control panel £200+
34030-26600 PCB £300 +

That's a bit rich for me unless anyone can get them cheaper ? I can fit myself so don't need installer.

Did you have any luck in sourcing a cheaper 34030-26600 PCB? as I'm also looking to install the upgrade.

Hello Pete
No,it appears the cost is the PCB plus the display unit so I didn't think it worth the money. If the pcb on the boiler goes then I'll look into it again.

Mine would have been the older one as its a 2010 van but the PCB was replaced late on in 2013 under warranty with the updated pcb

@BusyBuilder

It might be worth giving these guys a call.

I swapped my Combi 6 for a 6E with them and got a good deal. The guy in charge mentioned they also have plenty of stock of all the combi parts including PCBs.

Did you need any other cables to go with this or was it just a case of using the original cable from the combi and adding 12v at the panel?
I fitted one on my last van uses the same data cable but you do need to supply the CP with a constantly live 12v.

Did you get the power lead included with the unit? Did you buy from Prima?
From memory just the data cable ( which you don't need ) and a short power cable connected to a fuse with a terminal block to connect to 12v supply.

Found a pic showing power connector.

Wondering if the one from prima has the lead or just the panel, as it's so cheap compared to other companies

When I bought mine in 2014 retail was £270, trade price was £136+ vat. Got mine for a 100 by doing a favour for a friend in the trade. I wouldn't have paid 270 but after fitting it I think I would have paid full price as it does such a good job of controlling the heating.

The lead is only flat 6 core telephone cable with RJ11 plugs a couple of quid on eBay.

Why not take a look at the link I provided in the above post! It shows you how to install.

Pete
It doesnt show how to connect it if no power lead is supplied with the panel! The question I asked was how to connect it without the correct power lead.

I mean, without the power lead how did you connect the 12v supply

When I said it did not come with any leads , I meant any long leads , it does come with a very short cable with a small plug on the end to plug into panel , then connect the other end to your fused 12v supply, as in the photo in @Lenny HB post

It's just a terminal block you can use any cable as it only takes a few milliamps, look at the photo I posted.
