you get 2kw form ehu and either 2kw or 4 kw from gas together gives you a total of either 4kw or 6kw

The 6 has a 6KW gas boiler. The 6E has a 6KW gas boiler plus 2x.9KW electric elements with a maximum output of 6.9KW in mix mode. The 4E has a 4KW gas boiler and 2x.9KW electric elements with a maximum rated heat output of 3.8kw in mix mode.

Paranoid- but everyone says that about you behind your back😂

There must be thousands and thousands out there doing as they should
90% of “faults” are user error, many times disconnecting ehu before turning off. Go for a 4E

The 6E in my previous motorhome blew it’s internal mains fuse a couple of time when it was fairly new and it then settled down to run reliably. The Truma Combi is primarily a gas boiler and even with mains fuse blown it ran perfectly well on gas, the E option is an extra for us Brits who expect 16A hook ups. The mains fuse lies under the lower cover which is not a really a user accessible area but the fuse is easily found and changed IF there is room to get to it. In my Hymer this involved a gap I could barely squeeze my hand into and in the end I dangled the fuse on a cotton thread loop and used a finger on my squeezed hand to press it into place followed by pulling the cotton thread out. As you are installing this yourself my advice would be to make sure you have access to the panel.

The 6E in my current van has worked well for the last 2 years. Note, I was happy to order another new motorhome with a Truma Combi.

Nope, On gas it's 6kw on gas & electric its 5.5kw.
That is what I thought but the Truma link I used above has a comparison table and it now shows the 6E as having a maximum output of 6.9KW.

I am guessing a bit here but I think they may have updated the software to allow the full 6KW of the gas boiler to operate alongside one of the .9KW electric elements. From earlier documents it looked like they capped the gas to 4KW in the Mix modes.
