After spilling a litre of washing up liquid all over the water and heater control panel dials and other bits there's not power to the the controls. No heating and no hot water. I've found 12v either side of the truma Combi 6E PCB panel fuse but no power at the controls - help!! It's bloomin cold tbh

I know not much, but I think maybe the liquid has screwed the electrics? Hope you get sorted, but this will bump the thread anyway! šŸ˜

Tried to find a wiring diagram for the Truma controls but drew a blank. Has anybody seen one online - it's a Combi 6e circa 2010 with two dials

It might help if you said what van you have and a few pics of where you had the spill

I think I've tried all of these but I'll do a bit more digging tomorrow - I need to pull the kitchen apart to get at the Truma boiler board's so not a job for just now. Couldn't see any LEDs flashing and the hook up orange light isn't on even though everything else is working fine on hook up (especially the little fan heater we bought today for some heating)

It's a 2011 Rapido 7065+ the spill was in s cupboard over the sink but the washing up liquid spent half a day coating the back of several control switches and working it's way down to the floor. I've cleaned up as much if the green slime and a could reach and also cleaned all the switches and contacts. All the other bits work now, 240v plug, 12V socket, gas solenoid

& light switch but heater controls are dead.
Part way through looking at wiring hence the mess

The cable for the two controls at the base of the photo, look as if they might have push fit multi pin connectors to them. Have you been able to see how they are connected to the cables?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Yeah, they're sort of 6 pin telephone connectors. Had to pull them all out and clean the green gunge out of them. I suspect the controls and boards are toast but a bit of Hercule Poirot before I look at the feasibility of an upgrade to a i-Net type control system may save me a fortune

Probably the salt in the washing up liquid has done the damage.
Take the controls apart and clean throughly in distilled water.

Returning after a long lay off.
Try contacting Truma by phone. I rang them on Tuesday morning about a problem with my 4E. They answered straight away and were very helpful.

Might have a couple of spare controls in my ā€œbox of bitsā€ following an upgrade to the CPlus panel last year. Although mine is a 4e, I believe the controls are the same?

A bit of an update. Found a company locally that tests and repairs Truma PCBs:
A&R Electronics
Phoned at 9.30 and managed to have the board and controls to them for 11.00. Testing showed the PCB to be fine (Phew) but the controls are doing odd things.
I put everything back together in the van and after more cleaning I got a bit of life to record some flashing codes but dead again now. Ericroy expect a pm ;)

Truma also got back to me to say send in the boards and controllers and they will test them for free - more good service.

(y)Thanks all for help so far

Just to close this out - a visit to funster Ericroy for two replacement controllers and we now have a working boiler. Nice 'n toasty last night and had the first hot shower for a week (so probably didn't really need one :giggle:)
Thanks to Eric and this great forum (y)

It was great to meet Andy and Nicky - even though the lock down meant we couldnā€™t be as sociable as we would have liked. Delighted that my tendency to ā€œhoardā€ has had a very positive outcome for a fellow funster. The ā€œbeer tokensā€ in exchange were embarrassingly kind! šŸ˜€
