Hi all! Picked up a 2004 Fiat Ci 696 in October (y) Upgraded from our T4 Self Build camper and loving it - But having an issue with the Heater/Fire unit its a Truma 3002 with the battery powered igniter. It now wont spark and light the gas - have managed to light it manually and its working fine after that but no "clicking" when pushing the dial down - have changed the battery and still no joy? There is a 2 wire connector that goes back to the base where the rod sits and then another single cable on the back of the battery unit that goes of into the back of the appliance? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! We are away again in 2 weeks and would like it back up and running considering the time of year :cool:

In our caravan the rod would jump off the valve at the bottom sometimes but it sounds like you have checked that is OK. Other than that sorry can't help.

The batteries power a 'spark generator' - lights the pilot light

Had one on my Carver fire, replaced it with 'old fashioned' piezo - lights first time

Could be just a loose wire or bad connection/corroded battery terminals

If not try on line for a replacement spark generator
