Hi everyone.

Has anyone done this trip before??
If so what were your travel arrangements and how did you get on??
We plan to pay a visit for a week in September with the mother & father in law for some cycling & fishing.

HI Mark

Visiting caravans and motorhomes can be driven on the roads subject to a permit and are restricted to one journey to, and one journey from, the campsite to the port. Caravans must remain on the designated site for the period of the permit.

Special dispensation has been given allowing motorhomes to circulate on the Island on a daily basis but MUST return to the designated campsite each night. (Drivers should be aware that many of Jersey's roads are narrow and may have limited access).

read this thread for all the restrictions

Trip to Jersey in a motorhome

From what I can gather, you have to get a permit from the campsite that you will be staying at, for permission to bring the motorhome into Jersey. Once in Jersey you are able to drive the vehicle around if you so wish, but have to return to the campsite to sleep overnight. The roads are mostly narrow for larger motorhomes, we live in Jersey and our motorhome is 7 metres long - the only time we take it out on the road is on our way to the ferry terminal when we are off on our travels , or just to give the engine a run from time to time. Jersey is a beautiful island with great beaches, if you do come, we hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi Karen and Mark..
We did Jersey three years ago. We found it easy to sort out. We where going via carefree, a part of the camping and caravan club. But decided to contact the Buevalande site, (Spelling might be a bit out). They did it all for us, arranged the ferry and even met us off the ferry and escorted us to their camp. All we did was pay. That in itself was quite a surprise. The price thay quoted was approx. ÂŁ200 LESS than the camping and caravan club. So as we had a large motorhome and the roads weren't suitable for us to run around we hired a car from one of the car hire firms at the airport. They delivered it to the campsite and fetched it back at the end of the holiday. Plus it didn't cost that much either. The site was lovely and we have said we will do it again soon.( If we can find the time). If you want to know all the phone numbers etc. that is the wifes domain. Memory going. Will be glad to let you know. Go, you will enjoy it. If grumpy can enjoy it then anyone can. All the best. Peter and Brenda.

Hi Terry and Kathy
Peter here (grumpy)
With regard to the motorhoming on Jersey. You will get a lot of info. from this site on permits etc. If you go to Condor.com. It's the shipping company.
Also if you type in beuvelande,st. Martin, Jersey that will put you onto the information about the campsite. The car hire firm was Hertz at the airport.
Honestly if you contact the owners at Beuvalande you won't be disappointed. As I said the owners meet and greet. You can get fresh ( straight out of the fields) jersey potatoes. Can't find info at home for phone numbers etc. will keep looking. But you will probably find them first.
Anyway hope you go ......you will enjoy.
Peter and Brenda.
