Head south for Limburg - beautiful undulating countryside, very different from the flat North.

You can drive over the border to Geldern in Germany, they have a few Steplatz.

Or

We love this place near kinderdijk . Very Nice Owners.

http://www.landhoeve.info/ you camp below sea level on a lovely farm. Plenty of cycle routes and you can take the ferry into Rotterdam (with the bike).

We have stayed here. Its near the lovely town of Wiljre. There is a steepish hill nearby where all the cyclists in Holland head for, as they don't have too many in the rest of the country. Its close to Valkenberg which is famous for its Xmas market and also ideal if you want to nip across into Germany.

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Always fancied a visit to Arnhem. You know, just for the historic angle. Their is a fantastic museum at nearby Oosterbeek to commemorate the Market Garden Airborne Landings in WW2.

Valkenberg is on the Netherlands' only mountain. Cute tourist town, nice campsite, spectacular toboggan run and caves.

I visited Arnhem deliberately because my dad was a Paratrooper flown in by glider in the war. Quite an eerie feeling but that might be because of what my dad had said. A Bridge Too Far.

Sorry to hijack the thread. We're off to Holland too early July and the Limburg site with the spa looks interesting as fancy a pamper!

Have you used the spa/massage facility and if so, is it best to book in advance or can we book treatments on arrival?

How did you guess haha

Always wanted to see him. Got booked into Maastricht marina for 2 nights so looking for places to go from sun - fri. Back to uk fri lunchtime as meeting friends on the south coast. So thought a few days pampering would be good for the soul!

It's absolutely magical. First time we went we were in the square and the next time at De Groote Societie in the square where Andre Rieu performed his first concert 20 ish years ago. You'll love Maastricht and Valkenberg is easy to get to. Have an excellent trip. Ps. It worked out cheaper seeing him in Maastricht than in Manchester and we live here!!!

We did a mini tour (14 nights) to Holland a couple of years ago, at that time we were posted in Germany and were meeting up with some mh friends. Started in Groningen, moved to Den Helder then Amsterdam (plenty of alternatives) on to Arnhem and finished in Maastricht. There are plenty of sites (the Dutch are nomadic and love the outdoors) we believe it was one of our best holidays we have ever had, enjoy.
