A couple of weeks ago, someone on here asked about the news stories on Algae closing beaches in Brittany.
This comment only applies to the north coast beaches as didn't get to the south coast. Too short a trip.
Anyway..... None of the beaches are closed, asked some of the locals and whilst some were for a short while, they are all open now.
There is evidence of algae as many of the beaches have now got blackened sea weed strings on them. Some have been bulldozed and started to be cleaned up, but I think the majority will be left to decompose naturally through the winter.
The weather last week was not brilliant, only two day were remotely sea side worthy, fair bit of rain and got quite chilly at times. Autumn has arived early this year.
Roads, towns and tourist attractions are very quiet and many are already closed for the winter.
But at least the parking is a doddle.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Peter
