So what does all this prove.

Expensive German vans have similar quality control issues to cheaper British vans... So logically buy cheaper British vans and accept you are having similar build quality issues than a much more expensive German van :D2

All dealers have happy and disgruntled customers in equal measures. So good luck with the lottery of finding one who is consistently good... (y)

Simples!

I think this sums things up beautifully ... very succinct :)

I wouldnt call ours a MAJOR issue but it was one that could not be found so Travelworld got someone from N&B over and they managed to suss out what was happening and the problem was sorted (y).and with this Annabel was brilliant(y).

Can't argue with your logic, but we will be taking a chance and going German again next time I am sure;)

I disagree with this. On our second n&b over 11 years many nights and many years, still think they are best in class by quite a long way. Imo you have to experience them to fully apreciate them, a bit like a nice wine others are a bit crap after it.

In my experience the people and their view of the problems tend to be different. Someone spending 100-200k is going to be very annoyed if it doesnt work 100%. There are of course exceptions but the majority of the woe tales I ve heard over the years tend to suggest that the british vans have a larger quantity of serious issues -structural, damp, bad design etc whereas the luxury end moan just as much about less important things , take @Brian and Jo ,s wiring issue this is more of an annoyance imho than someone with stress fractures or incurable damp.

One point Id make is - never entrust a dealer to fit expensive extras. More often than not they haven't a clue. IMO Id always go to a specialist for towing extras, satellites, self levelling etc. Most dealers/salesmen know very little about the product they are selling. The only thing they are good at is charging top dollar.

I agree, we made sure any extras were factory fit (where available) and the rest were done by specialist companies. We got a Solar Panel fitted for about £400 Southdowns quoted £1,200.... similar for alarm.
