Can anyone help me with information as to any restrictions on driving down through France and into Spain At present or around December time

Currently no restrictions though Valencia is a Red Zone, as are parts of France you might pass through.

Unfortunately by December we could all be locked down again or banned from travel in France or Spain. I know it’s only 10 weeks away but with this virus everything changes or can change so quick. Keep an eye on this forum and ask the same question much closer to your date of departure

I plan to head that way before Christmas but I only ever book ferries a week ahead (most ferry fares don't change unlike airlines). In a motorhome if things change you can change.....no journey is ever wasted

Red Zone : It’s a hot spot for virus, potential local restrictions for residents, though afaik not for vehicles transiting the area.
I’m in Valencia Province currently and it’s a hot spot, but no restrictions locally (may be in the capital Valencia though).

If you make the effort you can sign up for Alert Emails from HM Gov.UK for any country you propose to visit and will get details of restrictions as they are announced from the Foreign Office. Nobody can possibly forecast what the situation will be in December! I think you can choose the frequency and I chose weekly for Spain and Portugal
