More than some less than others
I’m hoping to be heading south soon and I’m struggling to find information on travelling through Spain. So I thought I’d start this thread so anybody with ACTUAL EXPERIENCE of transiting through Spain since the 1st October 2020
ie
route taken?
places stopped overnight?
any police stops?
any other issues?

post any information here to help me and others and it keeps it all in one thread.

Thank you all.

Ive seen the gov website but I asked for ACTUAL EXPERIENCE as I have heard about transit restrictions through the northern areas due to COVID.

I think the FCO have actual experience and they also gather reports from travellers. Only trying to be helpful. :)

Just now Sanchez has spoken.

The Government decrees the state of alarm to impose a curfew from 23 to 6 hours and each community may prohibit travel between regions

We have been moving about Spain for the last 6 weeks, absolutely no problem and welcome everywhere.
You are obviously not going to the Hotspots,Madrid etc but you really don’t need to especially the people that are heading for the Costa for a bit of warmth.

We landed Santander from Portsmouth on 15th October, drove south on A66, one overnight stop in Salamamca and one in Zafra, then into Portugal via Ayamonte. This was by car though, stopping in hotels overnight. Ate out locally, masks worn unless seated to eat and drink. No problems at all. Passenger locator form collected by Brittany ferries staff at Santander on disembarking. Now in Cabanas in an apartment for the winter.

The trouble is, the Spain we travelled through at the begining of October is not the same Spain as now. Restrictions are changing by the week. We came in via the Somport Tunnel, I believe now if we did that we would have to drive through a restricted area.

You really will have to do your homework right up to the day of travel.

Land borders with Spain remain open at the weekend

Internal Affairs Minister Eduardo Cabrita said on 27 October that the land borders with Spain would not be closed over the coming weekend when restrictions on movement between municipalities are imposed.
"Non-resident citizens should come to Portugal only and exclusively for this framework of authorised movement: work, health care, and study if necessary," Cabrita explained to journalists.
Last Thursday, the Council of Ministers approved a resolution banning movement between different municipalities to avoid the spread of Covid-19, between 00:00 on 30 October and 6am on 3 November, but has exceptions and the end of the ban was brought forward from 11.59pm.
