Planning to leave these shores at the end of Sept, for approx 8 weeks...

Been told we have to be back, so as not to miss Santa coming down the chimney....:BigGrin:

There's The Easy Way or The Hard Way !

    Easy, Portsmouth - Bilbao/Santander.

    Hard - Dover Calais.

The direct ferry looks pretty expensive but when you take stops/time/running costs there's little in it. If you want to Get There, it's the way to do it.

Once around Santander by any route the rest of Spain can be reached with one overnight. Roads are excellent, tolls quite reasonable but easily avoided.

It's an amazing country, full of sights you'll not get elsewhere, from lunar landscapes to delicate Moorish buildings. And if you want it, British Fish 'n' Chips.
