Hello We are planning to go to Norway in July and we have five dogs has anyone done this before and what is the best way to go from Cambridge UK ferry or Euro shuttle
The maximum height is 1.8 and -3.2 hi we are 9 m long so it’s sending me to the freight website which is £534 with no dogs can anyone help

I started reading up on taking a dog and thought it seemed too much hassle, arriving from Calais. Maybe direct is better.

Check dogs on leads policy during nesting season. Reason why we stopped planning our Norway trip.

We took 2 dogs, used the tunnel, no ferries via Germany, Denmark, Sweden a fabulous route. Ferries in Norway have a 6m limit before commercial tariff applies.

Have you check on the dog situation yet? AFAIK you need to have the treated for worms before you enter Norway, this can be done in the EU before you cross the border, but obviously you need to be aware of the need, also obviously you'll need either an AHC (can put 5 dogs on it) or PPs in order to take them into the EU first.

We went pre brexit via the Chunnel, the Norwegian system for entry is like us returning to the U.K. so we went to our vets then had the 5 day window to get to Norway

Did that easily (ish) half a day to spare

At the border no obvious customs just one armed female soldier who waved us through, they didn’t even know we had a dog 🙄 nothing to reenter Sweden barely know you have changed counties, just retested to return to U.K. via Chunnel

A great trip 👍

Harwich to Hook of Holland and beat the French holdups. Drive up to Emshaven ferry direct to Kristiansand but prob expensive July and dogs.
Or drive up through Denmark to Hirtshals, ferry to Kristiansand the cheeper option

Hopefully going that way September.

Last time we went from Dunkirk and drove up through Germany to Rostock /Trellbouge cheapest crossing with TT lines, but a hell of a long drive plenty of free stopovers though.

Enjoy your travel.

Just an update on that Holland/Norway ferry. Discussed a lot on our Facebook group but basically there have been a lot of cancellations at Eemshaven as they share the docking facilities and the port can't cope with H&N's increased itinerary. They are using Cuxhaven now until the end of May when they will switch to Emden on a permanent basis. Emden being on the east side of the estuary in Germany. Germany/Norway Line?
