OK sorry for duplicated post should have searched first 🙈
We will be ending up in a retreat so no need to wild camp there itself, more as we go to it. And we are a 8m tag re tolls etc.
Thanks hive mind 👍🏻

Depends which way you want to go really and where you want to go in Croatia. We generally go Lille, Mons, Namur, Luxembourg,Stuttgart, Munich etc. Have also gone the 'higher' route, Brussels Koln etc. Or you can go through Switzerland of course. If you post your possible route I'll have a look for the places we have been.

I think you will find my route on one of the other, fairly recent, threads but we were in a 3.5+ Motorhome but I’ll briefly tell you the way toll free we used.

Zeebrugge to camp in Germany near Bitburg, then stop at Camping Christopher just south of Ulm. South to cross the border near Fussen via the Fernpass then the 179 &189 to Imst then 180. Then camping Prutz at Prutz avoiding the toll motorway & toll tunnel on A road bypassing Landeck on the 180 you have to go through the town on the 180 .

Or via Telfs on the 189 & 171 into Innsbruck and camping Natterer See at Natters just to the south and then the old Brenner road to Italy south from there. Beautiful campsite no longer ACSI.

Either way we then went via various sites such as Bella Italia at Peschera del Garda, onto camping Aquileia in village of same name near Triest then through Slovenia avoiding motorway and into Croatia. Stopping off at Venice was also easy and we stayed at camping Venezia with easy bus into the main station.

Or after Natters camping Toblacher See and down through Cortina to Aquileia. Charged electric! If cold

Or after Natters to Bolzano & back into Austria to camp near Villach then avoid Austrian motorway to Italy and through to Lake Bled in Slovenia or Camping Ljubljana at Ljubljana then the 106 to Delnice in Croatia and onto Krk or Senj to camp.

Unfortunately Slovenia now has go boxes for 3.5+ where before it was payable toll and I think the ring road at Ljubljana is toll so getting to tge campsite there involves going through tge town but I’m told by a Slovenian camper I met it can be done. I couldn’t find anywhere to get tge new go box last time there. The tolls in Croatia were payable, so easy.

I like to vary the routes even to the same places just for a change on tge way back we often stay in Kotschach, Austria stopping for a few days at Alpencamp then north over the Felbertauren tunnel on the 108 from Lienz.

Hope this helps Bear

Thank you .
We are heading to Ekodrom Estate. Vojnic. Thoughts of may go one way there and back another. Never having been motorhoming in Europe, full stop.

It does. It's the toll roads etc I'm not sure of this being the virgin driving overseas!

This is some of the sites (not all) that we have stayed at over the years on our way to Croatia.

To be honest I don't use Campercontact a lot now, I prefer Searchforsites. We may well go via the Ancona - Split Ferry this year.

Sorry didn't see the November bit. You'd need to check sites are open. Stelplatz etc probably will be though.

Tolls are not really a problem dependant on how heavy you are, 3.5t or over. Either are free in Belgium & Germany, paid for by toll booths in France, Italy and Croatia. Cheap Vignettes in Austria and Slovenia if 3.5t but if over you have to buy a Go Box electronic toll tag and put credit in the account. Not too difficult but not as simple as just paying or vignette so some members don’t go or avoid toll roads in Austria in particular as Austrian rules are easily broken with heavy fines! We love the country though.

I too missed November so you would need winter tyres/snow chains and I’m not sure what campsites you’d find open in Croatia. We normally transit the Brenner pass around 1/5 and sometimes it has only just opened from snow closure but as I said I avoided the toll motorway. Never done any of those routes in winter.

Ahhh never thought on the winter tyres. Expensive trip if needed with 6 wheels.
Also being a tag axle definitely over 3.5t

Not sure what you are seeking from your trip, but personally I wouldn't rate the weather as being very good in November. I'd expect it to be damp and cool in Croatia.

If that's not an issue, then absolutely fine. (y)

It's quite windy there too! That's our old B640 in the foreground.

Sounds good.

And I hope I'm wrong about the weather too, but just signalling the risk. (y)
