Hi, Can anyone recommend an insurance company that will provide cover for pre-existing conditions without needing to raise a mortgage to cover the cost of the premium? Got a quote yesterday for £482 - I don't think so!!!:whatthe:

My friend and his wife have just taken cover with Staysure for 120 days. They are 71 and 74. Just remember that in France your E111 on covers 80% of your medical costs. Ten days in a French hospital cost a friend of mine £2500 even with E111. Excellent care and they saved his life, so what ever the cost it was worth it.

Hi Chaser, Used the first link you gave me and the age drop-down option only went up to 70. Will try your second link.

Hi Tonka. Yes, they do go up to 80. Have just tried a quote but with all the pre-existing conditions added the premium came to over £500!

This is a company that came in some info from my Macmillan nurse. Not sure of the age criteria but they gave me a very good rate this year for a sixty day trip.

    Good luck in your search.

Have managed to get an acceptable quote from this company http://www.aceinsure.com/travel/ so will be going with them.

Many thanks Grasscutter for the information. Got a quote ok from them but not as good as Ace.

Just need to confirm the ferry booking now. With all this snow around we can't wait to be off to warmer climes! Roll on May. :yeah:
