I’m 66 andI have a few medical problems making it hard to get travel insurance for europe
A couple of years ago I was told that if you booked with euro tunnel and used their insurance, there was no problem as they don’t or cannot ask medical questions.
Has anyone done this,

I saw the option when I booked my chunnel this week, it looked good. Suggest you do a dummy booking which will then get you to the page with the details on it. The scheme is fully explained. We use LV= travel insurance, good value especially if you hve a car insured as well.

We have a Nationwide Flexplus account for £13 a month we have travel insurance for ourselves, breakdown and recovery for our Motorhome at home and abroad and both our cars.. you would need to pay extra for medical conditions but I would give them a ring or pick up a leaflet..when we opened the account by transferring an existing account we were given £100 each..it was a no brainer for us.. FYI our van is 3500kg ..so this might make a difference..

For a healthy 81 year old, Liam has more medical issues than you can shake a fist at! Staysure insured us both for a year for just over £500 but restricted to 35 days in Europe but we can go over as many times as Shengan allow. There were several companies who refused insurance despite him having all the medical issues sorted by surgery quite a few years ago.
I always make a point of ringing up for insurance cover as I don't want the companies ducking out of liability because the computer questionaire dosen't cove his particular situation.

Same age as the OP with underlying health issues.
Had the best quote from Goodtogo insurance this year. The insurance was placed with Puffin.
Just under £400 for a ninety day trip to cover all declared medical conditions.
