OK funsters, we are having problems getting sensible quotes for our Spain jaunt, Tesco will not insure either of us in excess of 31 days because they have a age cap of 64.

We are away 37 days, anyone have any recommendations for travel insurance?

In past I have used Staysure and last year LV...
We have a 90 day policy with LV at present...

We have a 9 month policy with LV. (y) Bob.

Try vIrvin we got a very good quote for a 12month policy cant rember max days in 1 trip though.

Eurotunnel does travel insurance, website shows 31 days, but if you ring up, there is normally no problem with longer trips, also the only health question is. Does your doctor consider you okay 'health wise' to travel. If you book with eurotunnel, though don't do the health insurance online, as if you do and wish to change your return date you will need to do it by phone, saying that we changed our date by phone by ringing from France last year and it took only a couple of minutes. Cost of insurance for the two of us was about 120, not to bad when your consider the lack of hustle about health conditions. Ps you also can book their health insurance by phone, and travel by other means, eg, ferries.

They even clarified this by email, because Her Indoors, was sceptical.

My advantage gold account with NatWest covers my travel insurance needs although not sure if it will co er extended stays, but worth looking into if you have this type of account

Try nationwide plus account, travel insurance and car breakdown (not MH).

My HSBC and also Co-op gold cards cover us, but only if we buy the trip or holiday with the card.

We have a 6 month stay, Terry is 70, I'm over 60,£102 each with cc&c club.
I haven't used them yet, thankfully.
Might be cos we booked the ferry with them?

Probably a bit late to be of any help but more a word of warning. We held a SAGA annual multi trip policy which seemed to great value. On receiving this year's renewal paperwork we noticed a clause on the summary which hadn't been on the previous summary. This stated that the policy (annual, multi trip) was only valid for a total of 42 days in any year. as we travel for at least 6 months of the year this doesn't meet our requirements. We feel that we were missold this policy, apparently if we wanted cover for a longer period then we would need to buy multiple policies to cover the time period!
We no longer have a SAGA policy but I wonder how many others were caught by this?
