We have an annual travel policy which covers trips up to 60 days, provided to former police staff so good value for us as a couple.

But we want to keep our options open for our coming trip to Spain.

Can anyone recommend an insurer for longer trips? One of us is over 65

Thanks @peter marshall

We have MH cover with CC not sure the travel ins would be competitive with our Police Mutual cover but we'll check it out.

I think we need to contact PM (not Dave) to see if it can be extended.

@Speve we went with Insure and Go annual multi trip up to 90 days, cancelled the Police Mutual as we worked out it wasn't such a good deal after all.

We'll have to shop around again next year when one of us turns 66 as I/Go won't then cover more than 31 days.

I'm curious to know what the more mature folk who go away for longer than 90 days do. Anyone?

@peter marshall Red Pennant wasn't competitive for our package.

@reckless I think a lot of them don't take any out and rely on their Ehic card, it won't be long before we'll be in that category think that's what we will be doing.

We use LV which is an annual (multi trip) each trip limited to 90 days.

Had a claim on our last trip which was settled hassle free over phone.

We have been with LV for the last 6 years. There Gold Policy covers up to 90 days. Both of us are 69 years old and the premium last year was £143.

We are with RIAS.

Both of us are over 65 and my wife had a pre-existing medical problem. We pay extra for cover for that but could choose to exclude it we want to. Cover would then be cheaper.

Our cover is for 365 days per year, no single trip longer than 180 days.

5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
Try Insure and go Back Packer I'm not sure if there is an age restriction though.
another vote for insure & go backpacker they did me a 180 day policy which was highly competitive for the same level (or less in some cases) compared to others I tried. Valuables should be insured in the MH 24/7 as long as they are concealed/locked in the garage. Some policies I checked were only covering daytime for break- ins not between 20:00 - 08:00 !!!!
