Has anyone successfully claimed against their travel insurance for additional expenses to get home during the lock down period? We had to extend our stay in Morocco and then wait for one of the ad hoc and v expensive ferris to France. The alternative was staying indefinitely and running out of medications not obtainable in Morocco.Policies all seem to be geared to outbound disruption and organised travel.

We were in the same position and had to pay silly money to get a ferry out to Malaga.
We had insurance with C &MC but so far can't make any contact with them, let alone make a claim.

We have friends stuck there who have only just got a ticket to get out...................mind you considering the weather over here.

We made a claim for excess fuel and motorway tolls from Spain through France to Euro tunnel as ferry was cancelled out of Bilbao in March. To my surprise they paid us all costs even though I only had one motorway toll receipt but had the cost of the tolls that we'd paid, must have an honest face. Had to pay £100 excess but still got over £350 back, that was with Nationwide insurance.

Still waiting for our refund on our cancelled South America/Canada trip. More than 8 weeks now, and it's a lot
of £££££££s. They said end of August???? So much for this 14 day nonsense.

Fleurette, suggest you do the Lottery tonight/tomorrow.(y)

Like many others we paid a deposit to the GNV company for the ferry from Morocco to France.
We did not pay the balance as they were cancelling too many ferries and just giving out vouchers.
Made a complaint to them and today received request for my bank details to refund the money.
So perhaps I'll do the lottery as well this week
Strange that the e mail came from Nigeria as I thought they were an Italian Company.(joke)
