Just had renewal from Staysure £348 for the two of us with some existing medical problems, the problem is they will only insure me for 35 days at any one time, over 71, wife 50 days ( not fair) so we are looking for recommendations for other companies .tia

When going abroad I use Red Pennant, for both medical and vehicle breakdown cover, I also have existing Medical problems, the last time we were away which was this year, it was for approximately 66 days and the cost was approx £280.00, hope this helps

I have a Nationwide Account and we pay the top ups for foreign travel will be paying the over 65 supplement too but is way cheaper than Staysure and does 90 days too

Isn’t the supplement applicable to over 70 not 65?

LV premier annual multi trip, 90 days max per trip, as many trips as you want (obviously if they are all 90 days then 4 trips/year).

To many to mention
Just a little note if you happen as a couple have different travel insurance companies. We have the Nationwide Flex insurance which also includes motor recovery etc, we also had travel insurance for ourselves but last year they would not cover OH for his medical illnesses. We wanted to keep the Nationwide account £13 x 12 still works out as good value for motor recovery which covers all of our vehicles or any other that we may be travelling in and also travel insurance for myself. We managed to get travel insurance for OH with All Clear but we also added an extra to the insurance which is if OH has to say attend hospital etc which means our accommodation etc needs extending they will pay for my extra costs even though I am not insured by them. As naturally my own insurance would not cover this. The extra cost was only £25.
I know this doesn’t cover the question regarding extra days etc but just thought it was something that may not be known and may help some people.

POH The policy covers any trip for 45 days, not sure if you can pay extra for a longer stay as the 45 days is sufficient for us. Went with All Clear as most insurers would not cover OH medical problems but it has cost £1250 including the extra £25.
