Just got a good quote for 6 month trip to Italy with cover for the virus.
My question is " has anyone got travel insurance for their dog included".
I ask as I'm solo with dog.
IF I get ill would my insurance repatriate my dog with me, as personal belongings ?

Sorry i can't answer your question but who did you get cover with? I need to get cover for a 9 month trip starting in 4 days.

Staysure, their terms include kenneling, but doesn't mention repatriation. Good price (inc pre med cond) compared to the meerkat
Shame ADAC have ceased taking uk members..They would have covered all you need..Not a very helpful answer I know.BUSBY.

I know that Petplan cover dogs whilst on holiday

Dogs used to be considered as personal property: that's how you could have them put down at will. I haven't seen any contradiction to this principle, so the Ins. Co. should repatriate.

We've got an Asda Gold pet policy which just about covers everything. But I don't think repatriation in the event of owner illness/accident is covered. Would need to ask the insurance company.

sadly it is still the same in law, they are chattels, as in personal property

How any person can own another living creature escapes me really, but that is the law. One of the reasons that you need a confiscation order ultimately to seize dogs that are considered connected to dog fighting. Not that it ever stopped me taking them and arguing later, but it helped to have a QC working with you

Sorry thot you were going to ask if you could stay with a dog in a Travel Inn.. Silly me 😎😎😎

CMHC Red Pennant covers repatriation of dogs. I think it also covers 2nd worming treatment if return is delayed. It does not cover other vet fees, you would have to check your dog’s insurance, if you have any. We never used to insure our dogs until we started taking them abroad.
