Travelling from Santander to Southern Spain via Madrid arriving at Santander at 6-7pm on 27th March, looking for somewhere safe to stay night possibly about 2-3 hours south of port. Any advice. JJ

When heading south, we like to stop in Salamanca, it is the most fantastic city to explore. You'll take a lot of photos. There are a number of sites around the city, but we normally end up in Camping Regio as by then I normally have serious internet withdrawal symptoms and they have fast free internet and always have space. I think its about 3 to 4 hours south of Santander.
