Hi so I've had my hymer since July... I haven't had to use the boiler yet. This may be a stupid question but how does the boiler fill with water. Does it automatically feed through from the freshwater tank? Or does it get filled separately......

Yes it does but you have to open all hot taps while it coughs and gurgles until water flows out. Takes a few minutes and about 10l of water

Yes fills from the fresh water tank when you open a hot tap. You need to make sure the automatic drain valve is closed as it dumps the boiler water at 3° to prevent frost damage. Depending where the tank is mounted can also dump the cold water.

Either you like cold showers or it's smelly in your van.:rofl::rofl:

Have you considered he could be happy paying for a site where they provide a shower block. Strange concept but I have heard of these pay to park 'sites' ??

Trauma or Truma? Overall the Truma boiler is a great device but we have had two vans in a year and the truma boiler has given a fair bit of grief with a range of error codes flashing up on the LCD panel

If you have a Truma Combi E then my top tips for getting along with your Truma are
Keep the manual or a list of error codes handy.
If it's misbehaving then don't change settings too quickly let things settle down and then make a change to the settings.
If the error code is flashing then you have to wait 15 minutes for the boiler to clear itself before you can change the settings and get it going again.
If you remove the access panel on the boiler unit then there is a green light on the right hand side. if the boiler has an error then the green light will be a flashing red light and the short and long flashes will spell out the error number in binary.
For some error codes you have to manually reset the boiler.
To reset the boiler you need to push a pen deep into a small hole towards the left side of the access panel and hopefully the red light will change to green.
