I didn't have a tracking device on the van mostly due to the initial and ongoing cost and I know what some will say at what cost a stolen van but have just bought a GPS Tracker for Fourty Five pounds measures 5 cm x 5cmx 2cm connect to live and negative send it a txt and it sends you a location it has a top up sim installed and as long as you send txt within three months it's always active so if van disappears you hopefully stand bit of a chance

The same as always:

If it's only for your peace of mind then it's probably fine for the price, there are loads of similar ones available.

If you have an insurance or any other requirement for a proper tracking device then all of the "DIY" ones are a complete waste of time and money.

I have a similar device hidden in the M-H. It works fine. The only question is IF it gets stolen and trashed, Do I REALLY want it back? Getting it back Quickly might be OK, BUT?

The one I have has facility to actually send a text and switch the fuel pump off!. Scratch one thief in the 3rd lane of the M62, en-route for Itinerant Homeland eh?.

I have very mixed feelings about Trackers. If it helps keep track of your Motorhome, should it be stolen, that would be good.
Mine is accepted as part of my present insurance. although when I was with Saga they wanted to charge extra as the 'Tracker' was a modification, but does it matter if it is part of an insurance link-up if it helps find your van. Also. as PeteH says do you really want it back? Well yes! I would want all of the little treasured sentimental contents back and the van could, I hope, be repaired.
