Just start the process in Littlewheels link and it will tell you if you need to register or not.

It IS NOT a link from which you have to register, only to inform you if you have to register

As @Youlostoo has said, only for commercial use or if your trailer is over 3500kg so probably affect very few funsters (y)

Just found an addition to this rule.

If you do have to register a trailer, the trailer HAS TO display both the trailer reg plate AND the tow vehicles reg plate.

I do know all Trailers in Spain have to be registered and saw it as another difficulty for leaving the EU.

We’ve been towing a car trailer for last four years without problems in Spain,Portugal,Germany,Holland,Denmark,Sweden, Finland & France.
And as already stated if under 3500 kg don’t need to register(y)(y)

That applies to most EU countries but only to nationals of that country.
Exceptions are made to visitors who don't have trailer registration rules.
There are probably thousands of British drivers towing caravans in Spain.
The new rules only apply to trailers OVER 750kg and only if used for reward... And ALL trailers over 3500kg regardless.
But unless you have airbrakes or air over hydraulic you can't tow those trailers anyway

Yes,I didn’t make it clear that it applies to Trailers owned by citizens of the Country. Been towing myself for over 40 years and I do get the commercial aspect.

most small car trailers top out at about 1600kg loaded with the car. so unless you are carrying some goods to sell, not included in this

Yes, but the stupid thing is, a trailer under 750kg doesn't have to be registered at all regardless of what it's carrying.... Only those over 750kg carrying goods for reward or any over 3500kg.

So, you can load your sub 750kg trailer with garden gnomes or boxes of balloons and get paid to take them anywhere in Europe and your legally OK.

Personally I think that the government link has misprinted that about 750kg trailers & that if used for reward they have to be registered.

no you can't unless you have a tacho.

So if you load your estate car with gnomes or balloons and get paid to carry them does your car need a tacho.
Do you know ANY company who fits tachos to cars.

It isn't a misprint..
Click Littlewheels link and begin the process.
It asks a series of questions regarding weights, countries and uses then says if you must register or not.

The moment you click under 750kg it states you CAN'T register.

That would mean not only a misprint but also a whole question has been posed incorrectly.

Yes that is correct. I know of 4 here who have been stopped in France 3, with vans & 1 with a 4x4. All do it for reward. First 2 both towing fined & told to get tacho's fitted , 3rd was not towing but had a towbar. Told the same ,Needs a tacho.last was towing using a 4x4 fined & told tacho had to be fitted.
& no you'd have to change to a vehicle that can have a tacho fitted.
