I doubt it. The sensors are usually powered by being wired to the reversing lights only. I think you ll have to get used to them beeping when reversing the trailer.
To anyone reading this thread I realised, after posting it, that I had not really explained the problem we have.
We tow a Hydra Trail Easy Lifter trailer, carrying a motor scooter. The rig requires a flat flange towbar.
The local towbar fitter has said that he believes the sensors, on the new motorhome, will pick up the bulky unit and sound the alarm as soon as reverse is selected, rendering it useless as a reversing aid.
So the questions really are.....
Does anyone have experience of sensors with a flat flange towbar?
Do the sensors pick it up all the time?
Does a standard tow ball operate the sensors?
As I said elsewhere when I posted this, apologies to all for asking the wrong question. My fingers were typing too quickly for my brain.
