Elf did 300 Autoques

Just a question, we live in Fife Scotland and have a 2004 Elddis Autoquest 300 motorhome. I have been to a few places to see about installing a towbar but have been told that they do not have anything so will have to get one manufactured but I can’t find anywhere her in Scotland. Does anyone know where I can have this done and with the age of the van if it would be possible to get it wired to tow a small car on an A frame

Try to find a metal fabricator or blacksmith, looks as though you may be in a rural area so try asking a farmer, they usually know a good smithy. Not sure who could help with the electrics though.

Maybe contact a manufacturer in England and get one shipped. They are not hard to fit and a decent auto electrician can do the basic wiring. If it’s too much trouble to hard-wire a tow car use a trailer board.

for example

Check with Hedley towbars Durham wh will ship a full towbar kit including electrics. If you go to there premises will manufacture one to suit M/H.

Remember to check your insurance particularly if it’s being manufactured for you.

Drive down , drop off early , he'll lend you a car , visit Lytham St Annes , 6 hours or so, leave with towbar if he has to make it
On a 2004 van he can build you one if there's not one on the shelf

Mine was £375 with electrics
